Free Photography training
Free photography training is now
provided, with no need to register, this is offered in cooperation with
Photographers Resource,
the free online resource for all photographers. Free photography training is
possible as you can access this online, and we have therefore no delivery or
similar costs. Within the training modules of the free photography training,
there will be some advertising, and this pays the costs, however this will
be kept to a minimum and never either be in the main text or affect the
editorial content.

This free photography training has been developed using
an advanced interactive technique, allowing us to make it better for you
than a group course and relevant to the equipment you use. In addition to
the free photography training, we plan to offer some optional low cost day
practical sessions, we will also have many practical exercises that you can
do if you wish, and you will be able to find locations near to you, many with
free access using the information provided by
Photographers Resource.
This website is now completely focused
on the free photography training, and optional low cost sessions, but we
have links to others who can provide faster 1 to 1 training.
Welcome to Photo Skills
Photo skills is a photographic training
provider of FREE interactive online courses suitable for users of any make and type of
camera. This is funded by sponsorship and advertising revenue, it never
need cost you a penny and we don't even need to know who you are. We work
closely with two of the worlds leading photography training providers,
allowing you access to their knowledge and experience.
We are also going to
organise a small number of optional low cost workshops to allow you to get
practical experience to go with the online interactive course. You don't
need to take these to use the free courses and we don't ask you to even
register. These workshops are not available yet, the first will probably be
around the middle of 2009.

We at Photo Skills ran group
courses that were very similar to other group training providers, but
like other group courses they were not ideal for photographers.
Photography is a practical subject, and people start from different points
have different requirements and need interaction that group training
does not allow. We also ran an Introduction to Digital Photography
course as a 1 to 1, and this was far better, this course is now run by
Photography skills. The best option is 1 to 1 because you learn so much
faster, and it works out far better value.
We work closely with others
including Camera Images and
Photography Skills, who both provide the
very best in 1 to 1 training, and with the Photographers Resource
website, who have the best information, articles and more all fully
indexed.
For various reasons some don't want
to do 1 to 1 training, perhaps its the cost, although it works out far
cheaper as you need so many less days to really make a difference, or
perhaps other reasons, and we wanted to be able to offer something
superior to group courses.
We feel interactive courses online,
while not as good as 1 to 1, is better than courses with a number of
people on, and we have a team able to make the most of this for you. If
we sold these courses to you most of the cost would be in selling them
to you, so rather than do this, we have decided to give them away, and
cover our costs by sponsorship and advertising. This won't be over the
top or get in the way and as the sales of this is being handled by a
separate business, it has no impact on the editorial content.

Camera Images
the worlds best 1 to 1 training provider for those with
Nikon cameras, be they beginners, intermediates or professionals. They
cover all areas of photography and editing with Capture NX. These are
world leaders with clients flying in from around the world, but also
able to meet any ones needs be they a complete beginner or top
professionals.

Photography Skills
also run a 1 to 1
Introduction to Digital Photography day, for
those with any camera that have not mastered their camera yet. This is
the training day we used to put on at Photo Skills, but transferred to
Photography Skills to allow us to concentrate on the new and exciting
area of interactive learning.
Photographers Resource -
the online resource for every photographer with a photographers diary,
telling you day by day what is coming up that you may like to
photograph, location guides on a wide variety of items, over 1000
gardens, every windmill, and even stone circles are all indexed. Find
information on all wildlife in the UK, tide times and very much more.
Updated and extended weekly, loads of articles, and reference material
and weekly newsletter. All indexed by topic, alphabetically and by county.
Free, no registration required.
Our Role -
Photo Skills were providing group training, but
discovered we could help people far more with interactive leaning, and
what's more doing it over the internet we could make it a free service.
We have more courses planned -
but we feel its better to do what we do well than rush into producing
more. Some of the courses we are looking at are parts of the area of
photography for example putting your images on a picture library, while
others are looking at technical areas. We would also like to produce
training courses for other editing systems including the all free public
domain Gimp.
